This study was undertaken to determine the catch composition, length weight relationship and the condition factor of fish in Lake Turkana. Six field stations were sampled during the study covering a period of six months. An outboard motor boat was used to access the sampling sites while gillnet (mesh size ranging from 1.5-6.0 inches) was used as the fishing gear. The species caught were identified to species level and their sexes including maturity stages determined. The length weight relationship was determined. The data was pooled together and analysed using both excel spreadsheet and PAST software. The results gave a total of 17 species during the study period. The three species with highest composition were Oreochromis niloticus, Hydrocynus forskahlii and Synodontis schall making up to 54 % of the total catch. Ferguson’s gulf mouth exhibited highest diversity (Shannon-H of 2.259) followed by Eliye spring (1.820). Majority of fish caught fell within a modal length class of between 20 cm and 30 cm. although some species such as Brycinus nurse and Oreochromis niloticus had lower modal length class. There existed both negative and positive allometric growth depending on species. However, condition factor indicated a healthy wellbeing of all the species studied.
