POTENTIAL APPLICATION AND REGENERATION OF BAMBOO BIOCHAR FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT: A REVIEW

Adsorption capacities of biochar are mainly influenced by either the nature of biomass, production conditions, or method of modification. Bamboo biochar is intensely reviewed in its production, functions, application and regeneration methods showcasing its utilization and importance as an adsorbent for wastewater treatment. The technologies involved in the processing and enhancements of bamboo as well as the performance of its biochar are also discussed in this study. The adsorption performance of bamboo was proven better after modifications and even proven much better with its regeneration ability. It is however paramount to focus on industrial-scale treatments and competitive sorption for contaminant removal in future research.
