Abstract

Silica from bagasse ash was nanostructured with templating concept, these resulted into ordered and disordered nano pores in the silica. The average pore widths were between 220.87 and 537 nm. These pores were classified as macro pores. The macro porous silica developed can be applicable in sensing, selective filtration, catalysis, drug delivery and membrane.

Key words: Silica, templating concept, macro pores.
