Cinnamomum verum, also known as true cinnamon, is a traditional herbal remedy prized for its fragrant bark and leaves, which are used in cooking and medicine. It’s essential oil, which contains cinnamaldehyde, has strong antibacterial properties and is effective against food deterioration microorganisms. Cinnamon is widely utilized in the culinary world, particularly in cereals and fruit dishes, and it includes antioxidants with a variety of health benefits. Steam distillation yields three types of cinnamon essential oils: leaf oil (0.7%), which has a moderate aroma; bark oil (1%), which is stronger and spicier; and berry oil (0.8%), which is sweeter. Recent studies on C. verum essential oil have shown that it is particularly efficient in tick management. Ticks were completely removed within 3-4 hours of using larger doses. In comparison, Flumethrin 1% took 24-48 hours to provide the same outcomes, demonstrating cinnamon oil's quickness and efficacy as a natural tick management technique.
