This research was aimed at contributing to the effort of extensive categorization of Afaan Oromo literature into the written and unwritten literary corpuses. The main objective of the study was to identify the key concepts of Freudian Psychoanalysis in the selected Oromo novel Suuraa Abdii which was used as a primary source of data. Important excerpts for the analysis were taken from the novel through a Close Reading technique and were transcribed into English using the Communicative Approach. The data used as textual evidences were identified after a critical reading based on the knowledge of psychoanalytic criticism. The Classical Psychoanalytic Literary Theory Frameworks were employed during the progress of data identification and coding. Qualitative data analysis method was used. All the concepts raised and analyzed, and all the judgments made were supported by textual evidences from the novel to make the research findings reliable. The study shows that the novel is rich in features of psychoanalytic literature like unconscious and repression, Id-Ego-Superego model, Symbolism and Sublimation.
