Previous research suggests that psychological factors significantly influence postoperative recovery and emotional well-being. However, there is a lack of research on the combined effect of standardized nursing procedures and collaborative psychological care in this patient population. The primary objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of a combined approach of standardized nursing procedures and collaborative psychological care on emotional well-being, postoperative recovery, and patient satisfaction in patients undergoing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. This is a single-center, retrospective study conducted in a hospital setting. Participants were patients scheduled for laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, aged 18-65 years, with a body mass index (BMI) of 30-45 kg/m², and no contraindications to the procedure. Exclusion criteria included pregnancy, cognitive impairment, and inability to provide informed consent. The experimental group received standardized perioperative nursing procedures. The control group received only standardized nursing care. Nursing satisfaction was assessed using a self-designed questionnaire before discharge, covering five dimensions: ward environment, nursing skills, service attitude, humanistic care, and health education. The experimental group demonstrated significantly shorter times for the first postoperative anal exhaust, first defecation, first ambulation, and a significantly shorter average hospital stay compared to the control group (P<0.05). Both groups showed a significant decrease in scores on the Hamilton Anxiety and Depression scales post-intervention, with the experimental group showing even lower scores than the control group. The experimental group also expressed higher levels of satisfaction with the nursing care received compared to the control group. The results suggest that the implementation of standardized nursing procedures, along with the incorporation of collaborative psychological care, effectively alleviates negative emotions, accelerates the postoperative recovery process, and enhances patient satisfaction with nursing care in patients undergoing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.
