Numerical calculation of the parameters of the vortex wind turbine.

The relevance of the work is to develop a new direction of wind turbines with a vertical axis of rotation without wind guidance mechanisms. The main goal of the study was to develop a mathematical model to describe a new design of a wind turbine, the distinctive feature of which is the use of the vortex effect. The tested structure consists of a flow concentrator, inside of which there is a wind wheel. A vertical pipe installed on the concentrator is used to extract the flow. The research methods are numerical calculation and mathematical modeling of flow parameters. The review and analysis of mathematical methods and existing technologies are carried out. The calculations are based on the method of large-vortex modeling with the solution of the averaged Navier-Stokes equations. As a result of the research, the velocity distribution in the channels of the concentrator, the inner part of the structure and the exhaust pipe was obtained. The results of the calculations show that the narrowing channels of the concentrator are described by a logarithmic dependence, which creates a stable vortex motion inside the structure and in the vertical pipe. The results of the research can be used in solving important applied problems. Methods for calculating turbulent flows allow us to study the aerodynamic processes in wind turbines with a vortex effect.
