A pot experiment was conducted in a high tunnel located in the Research and Teaching Farm of the Department of Crop Science and Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria to understudy the effect of nursery media on early seedling emergence and growth of KPF-4 and Purple genotypes of Passion fruits (Passiflora edulis). The experiment was laid out as a 2 × 7 split plot experiment in Completely Randomized Design and replicated twice. The textural class of all the media composition used in study was found to be loamy-Sandy. All the data collected were subjected to Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) following the procedure for split plot experiment design in Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Mean separation was done using Least Significant Difference (LSD) at 5% probability level. Generally, the result obtained showed that emergence were highest in the interaction of Sawdust(100%) with both KPF-4 and Purple genotypes whereas growth responses suggested that the interaction of Tp+Pm+Rh (3:2:1) with KPF-4 & Purple genotypes was the best after 6months of emergence although there was no significant difference(P>0.05) statistically on both cases. Considering the emergence and growth response, the media- Sawdust (100%) and Tp+Pm+Rh (3:2:1) respectively are recommended for growing Passion fruit in Awka.
