Teaching which is regarded as a noble profession has changed its definition with the pacing of time. Teaching is considered as an art form not just only delivering lecture in the classroom but also make his lecture dynamic and spontaneous. The teacher’s art form is the combination of the teacher’s method, technique and teaching materials that is used by him or her. Among them authentic materials are the most important factors that become a buzz word in present teaching pedagogy. Authentic materials are used in language classroom so that the learners are motivated to learn and become familiar with the real life situation. Teachers have their own view point about the practicality in the classroom. This paper aims to analyze the usage of authentic materials in the classroom and its problems and the view of teachers and students about authentic materials. This paper also focuses on the professional use of authentic materials rather than artificial materials in language teaching classroom.
