Arabica coffee is predominantly an autogamous perennial crop. During hybrid seed production for research purposes and technology demonstrations, special care needs to be given to avoid seed deterioration. A well-prepared and documented manual on crossing techniques and pre- and post-harvest seed management is paramount for every expert and other stakeholders. However, a well-written and documented manual that encompasses crossing techniques, pre- and post-crossing care, and field management is lacking, which leads to some technical problems and the absence of a common working manual. Thus, this document is prepared to solve the technical problem of coffee crossing techniques and to make the information easily available to those involved in coffee hybrid seed production. In this document, pre- and post-crossing techniques such as parental line establishment, selection of coffee trees, branches, and flower stages, marking the selected branches, emasculation, bagging with waterproof materials, pollen collection, dusting pollen, and follow-up of the crossed seeds are discussed in detail. The essential materials used for crossing and pre- and post-management rehearses to be followed are further elucidated to be easily utilized by users.
