Measurement of trimethylamine contents and evaluation of pig meat natural quality by spectrophotometric method

Pig meat off-flavor was attributed to trimethylamine (TMA) contents, and to evaluate pig meat natural quality at different breeds, genders and days is reported. In this study, total 49 leg meat samples were used to assay TMA contents and 18 for measurement of TMA threshold to evaluate the natural quality. Xiang Mini pig contained the lowest TMA value (11.31±0.25 μg/g) in the four tested breeds, whose meat...

Common fixed point theorems for some generalized non-expansive mappings and non-spreading mappings in CAT(0) spaces

We study the existence of a common fixed point for some generalized non-expansive mappings and non-spreading mappings in CAT(0) spaces. We also study an iterative method for approximating common fixed point of a pair of those mappings. Key words: CAT(0) Space, nonspreading mapping, common fixed  point.

An experimental setup to seek for maximum power point tracking of photovoltaic panels

Energy is a very important issue nowadays. In the last years a lot of researchers have dedicated their studies to looking for new energy sources. In Brazil, we have the privilege to have an amount of sunlight per year - very high all over the country. This fact motivated this research. In this work we present an experimental approach for achieving maximum power point tracking of photovoltaic panels. To do so, we...

Heterobasidion root rot in forests on former agricultural lands in Poland: Scale of threat and prevention

This paper describes the specifics of forests on former farmlands in Poland and their protection as well as preventive measures taken. The review refers to polish literature on the threat by root rot caused by Heterobasidion annosum (Fr.) Bref. to pine and spruce plantations established on post-agricultural lands on an area of more than 1400 000 ha. In Europe, the latter presents an outstanding example of only one of...
