Abstract

This study discusses different physical parameters of the Ordinary Portland cement (OPC) that is produced and available in Jordan, and their comparison with Jordan standard specifications which include Blaine, compressive strength at different ages, consistency, setting time and expansion. All the results are presented to provide both quantitative and qualitative notion of several locally produced ordinary Portland cement. However, most of the constituents that were determined experimentally were within the range of the standard values. The possible reasons for variation in physical parameters and their consequences have been discussed. It has been found that Alrajihi cement has the best quality in all the samples studied with reference to their physical parameters.
