On non-standard finite difference schemes for initial value problems in ordinary differential equations

Abstract

In this paper, we present the theory of non-standard finite difference schemes which can be used to solve some initial value problems in ordinary differential equations. Methods of construction and mode of implementation of these methods are also discussed.  We also examine the stability properties of the constructed schemes.
