Overview of atmospheric physics to study climate variability, greenhouse gas impact and atmospheric temperature profile

Anoruo C. M., Okoro E. C., Okpala K. C., Orji P. O., Sivla W. T. and Robert J. J.

Atmospheric Physics is a fascinating scientific discipline, presents a comprehensive coverage of global meteorology and climatology. It has provided essentially a viable means for tackling environmental issues, key to vital and challenging problems facing weather and climate predictions. This Paper discusses a basic understanding of atmospheric physics as an essential field behind issues of current concern on climate change in response to increase in greenhouse gases emission, and why depletion of stratospheric ozone have occurred. Earths greenhouse gases, temperature formation and development of weather systems have been discussed.

Keywords: Atmospheric physics, CO2, temperature profile, energy budget.
