Holmium doped borate glasses were prepared by conventional rapid melt-quench method. The X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) pattern indicates the amorphous nature of Holmium doped borate glass. Photoluminescence spectrum gives an idea of the optical properties of Holmium doped borate glass. Determination and differentiation of the various vibrational modes were done using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy studies. The dielectric properties such as dielectric constant and the dielectric loss were studied at different frequencies and temperature.
