Abstract

The coverall objective of this project is to improve the educational status of younger generation to meet the millennium development goals. The specific objectives of the project are to initiate the community to advocate for support and education of poor, to increase the enrollment of students in the school, to increase the access of poor to education, to change the life condition of poor children through education and to empower the households of poor economically. Major activities to be carried out are selecting poor children, support to poor children, conducting community meeting, conducting student meeting, empowering the families of poor children economically and employment of coordinator. Duration of project is from May 2005 to April 2009. Total budget of the project is Eth. 1,354,300. The direct beneficiaries of this project are 500 poor children in Wolaitta where as the indirect beneficiaries are the families of these children. The expected outputs are 500 children supported in education and their families supported economically.
