The Jos City is experiencing rapid infrastructural development by the state and uncontrolled development by the people. As a result of this, the natural vegetal cover has diminished rapidly over the years with minimal replacements. This study is an expert assessment of urban landscaping practices by examining the landscape practices and landscape quality in the City of Jos. The Expert model was used to assess a total of 43 purposively selected public agencies based on the level of landscape in the premises. The study revealed that, less than 30% of the landscape sites were classified as excellent by the expert model based on applied landscape principles. The study advocates the involvement of landscape Architects and other allied disciplines in landscape business in the city. The research therefore maintained the need for landscape planning policy and the inclusion of landscape plans as prerequisites to building plan approval in the City of Jos.
