The implementation of information and communication technologies at secondary vocational schools

Abstract

 

The article was focused on the implementation and evaluation of interactive boards at a selected secondary school in Slovakia. The aim of the survey was to highlight the implementation of interactive boards during educational process, to identify advantages and disadvantages of interactive boards according to the pupils’ opinions and to point on the pupils’ interest on interactive boards as a modern teaching-learning tool. 159 pupils, aged 16 and 17, of the selected secondary school participated in the survey. The survey was divided into 5 parts. The aim of the first part was focused on how often the pupils use the internet during vocational subject. The second part of the survey was focused on how often teachers use interactive boards during vocational subjects. Then, the survey was aimed to the pupils’ opinion on the implementation of interactive boards during education. To be more specific, the next part is aimed to the advantages of the interactive boards. Finally, the last part of the survey was focused on the disadvantages of interactive boards according to the pupils. The detailed results of the survey are described in the article itself. The survey was realised as a part of KEGA Project 031-035 STU-4/2010: ‘Models of project-based learning at secondary vocational schools’.
