Quad Band Notched Antenna for UWB Applications.

In this paper a U shaped compact microstrip patch antenna is studied. A CPW feed line is used to excite the antenna. The antenna has a dimension of 24 x 28 x 0.787 mm3. Ultra wideband characteristic is obtained between 2.6 GHz to 12.6 GHz. Four notches are introduced by incorporating Complementary Split Ring Resonator ( CSRR), metallic ring in the bottom plane an using CRLH structures in the ground plane.. The antenna shows a gain of 1.63 dB and can be efficiently used for UWB Applications.
