To analyze the dynamics of tick burden on Afar cattle R studio software base principal component analysis was through. The average tick burden counted was 19.14 ticks on individual animal, the maximum tick load was 129 and minimum was 0. Among the body predilection sites maximum tick burden was on ear 59 ticks, anus/vulva 57 were counted, while the lowest burden was neck 13 and abdomen 5 ticks. The level of burden in percentage on each body predilection site in ascending order anus/vulva 41.81, ear 28.38%, udder/scortum area 20.25%, dewlap 6%, neck 1.2% and abdominal area 0.8%, mean while female engorged ticks found attached on animals were 1.47% of the total count.
