Modification of some organic compounds of pharmaceutical interest

Abstract

In this article, the modification of the chemical structure of acetaminophen and ibuprofen is described. The esterification, acetaylation and hydrolysis products of acetaminophen and the nitration product of ibuprofen were prepared. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral analysis. The synthesized products will be tested and evaluated as antimicrobial agents.
