The disease assessment was conducted in two zones of southern Oromia, West Guji and Borana zones in 2020-2022 cropping rainy seasons. The assessment was done in two districts of each zone and totally four districts were assessed. The districts were selected purposively based on potential of crop they produce. The assessment was done at five points in each field and for the assessment 1m2 quadrat was used to record a data. The recording of data was done in a diagonal pattern in each field. The recorded diseases on common bean were Angular leaf spot (Phaeoisariopsis griseola), Anthracnose (Colletotrichum lindemuthianum), common bacterial blight (Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. phaseoli) and leaf rust (Uromyces appendiculatus (Pers.: Pers.). Among these diseases common bacteria had highest disease incidence percentage. The major diseases recorded on maize with their incidence percentage were Gray leaf spot (Cercospora zeae-maydis), Turcicum leaf blight (Exserohilum turcicum), Maize common smut (Ustilago maydis), and maize chlorotic mosaic. Gray leaf spot holds a major place among the three main diseases observed on maize. The major disease recorded on teff was leaf rust (Uromyces eragrostidis). to reduce loss caused by the diseases on major crops cultivated at this area, it needs high owing consideration.
