The past decade has witnessed continued increases of Sino-Russian mutuality, rapprochement and cooperation. In many ways, Sino-Russian geostrategic alignment has significantly altered the manner in which the United States (U.S) exercises its power and influence across the globe, especially in its ‘regions’ of strategic interest. In essence this article attempts to answer the following questions: How does Sino-Russian geostrategic alignment threaten U.S policy in Venezuela? How have Moscow and Beijing intensified comprehensive strategic alignment in political, economic and military dimensions? What is the emerging structure of power and polarity in relation to US-Sino-Russian relations? This article examines these questions in detail, starting with a review of declining U.S supremacy and the ways in which China and Russia have combined to deflect U.S policy. The research findings reflect that the individual and combined fortitudes by China and Russia to project comprehensive power in Latin America, and more importantly in Venezuela, mirror the new range of threats scuttling U.S foreign policy interests in the Western hemisphere. The study concludes that Moscow and Beijing will continue to impose countervailing resistance measures calculated to limit and hamstring Washington’s exercise of power, while consolidating their individual and joint capacities to shield their vital interests from the U.S.
