The title of the research is Post-Independence Eritrea: Political Ideologies and Human Rights in Focus. Eritrea faced lots of ups and downs after its independence from Ethiopia. Many people sacrificed their lives for independence because they expected change, prosperity, and above all free country that can grant every possible political right to its people. The expectation of many people including families of martyrs however was failed to be realized. Therefore, this paper will shed light on Eritrea's post-Independence realities by focusing on political ideologies and human rights handling in that country. In doing so, the researcher has managed to interview Key informants and explore written documents on a similar topic. The research is qualitative research where meanings, concepts, definitions, characteristics, metaphors, and descriptions of things are interpreted thoroughly. The finding of this research shows that the people of Eritrea did fail to realize their dream of having a nation that is democratic and Libertarian. Due to this unexpected outcome, many have fled their country for exile.
