The experiment was conducted at Legambo district between January and July 2018 to evaluate the productive performances of Bovans Brown (BB), Sasso (SS) and Potchefstroom Koekoek (PK) chicken breeds under backyard and semi-intensive management systems. A total of 900-day-old chicks were reared up to 91 days of age. Body Weight (BW), Final Body Weight (FBW), Average daily gain (ADG), Feed Intake (FI), mortality and reason of mortality were recorded throughout the experimental period. Data were analyzed by SAS, 2008. Productive performances of FI, FBW, BWG and ADG at the end of 8th and 13th weeks were significantly (P<0.05) higher in all breeds and in semi-intensive management system. Potchefstroom Koekoek and Sasso breeds had better FCR than Bovans Brown. The mortality rate were not significantly (P<0.05) different at the end of 13th week. In conclusion, the productive performances were influenced by the breed and management system. SS and PK breeds better performed in both management systems than BB breed. In the study area mortality is a major constraint in both management systems. Therefore, the following recommendations are suggested that, both management systems should need further improvement; the SS, PK and BB breeds should be needed farther study about egg quality, egg quantity, and hatchability performances in this study area.
