The Objectives of this study is to investigate the effect of diets containing different levels of Lawsonia inermis leaf on egg production and egg quality (internal and external) of Isa Brown hens. 150 point of laying birds (18 weeks) were used for the experiment. They were divided into five treatment groups (T1, T2, T3, T4, and T5 fed 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40g/kg Lawsonia inermis leaf meal respectively). Each treatment comprises of 30 birds with 6 birds per replicate. There was no drugs and vaccine to test the effect of the antibacterial of tested ingredients. All data collected for this study were subjected to analysis of variance. Results from the experiment shows that T5 had the highest values in egg number, total egg number and egg production percentage followed by T4 while the lowest values were recorded in T1. T5 had the highest egg weight while the highest values for shell weight and shell thickness was recorded in T4. Better Albumin weight and yolk weight were recorded in T5. In conclusion, the inclusion levels of Lawsonia inermis up to 40g in the diet of layers impose non-deleterious effects on the egg quality traits and egg production of layers.
