Abstract
Call admission control and packet scheduling are two important issues that are considered in ensuring quality of service (QoS) requirement in a wireless network. Due to robust wireless channel and heterogeneous behavior of traffics, there is a need to consider QoS parameters in admitting and scheduling packets in wireless network such as WiMAX. To ensure quality of service requirements are achieved, a combined link aware call admission control and scheduling algorithm is presented in this paper. We proposed dual partition of the bandwidth for call admission control and priority earliest deadline for packet scheduling. Simulation results showed that link aware dual partitioning call admission control (LADP CAC) outperformed the link aware conventional call admission control (LAC CAC) with about 46% increase in flow acceptance, low blocking probability at high acceptance flows and the link scheduling aware achieved high throughput with maximum link utilization.
Key words: admission control, link, scheduling, buffer, delay, flow acceptance, and QOS.
