In this paper, an attempt has been made to solve the problem related to the motion of asecond grade ï¬‚uid for an oscillating rod. The ï¬‚uid is electrically conducting in the presenceof a uniform transverse magnetic ï¬eld. The developed differential equation takes intoaccount the effect of the material constants and the applied magnetic ï¬eld. The modeledproblem has been solved analytically and an exact solution has been obtained in terms ofBessel function.
