Abstract
In this paper, an attempt has been made to solve the problem related to the motion of asecond grade fluid for an oscillating rod. The fluid is electrically conducting in the presenceof a uniform transverse magnetic ï¬eld. The developed differential equation takes intoaccount the effect of the material constants and the applied magnetic ï¬eld. The modeledproblem has been solved analytically and an exact solution has been obtained in terms ofBessel function.
