Rural farmers often find themselves in the dual role of both managers and laborers, shouldering the responsibility for numerous farming challenges over which they have limited control. While they devote significant time and effort to ensuring the safety and enhancement of their crops, land, and livestock, it is concerning that they often neglect their own physical, social, and mental well-being, thereby increasing the risk of stress. If left unaddressed, this issue of stress could not only impair their ability to sustain themselves but also have detrimental effects on rural development. To explore the potential relationship between stress management among farmers and rural development, this study was conducted. Utilizing the multi-stage sampling technique, 360 respondents were selected, and Robert Karasek's stress theory was employed to elucidate the subject matter. The findings of the study suggest a significant correlation between stress among farmers and rural underdevelopment. Consequently, it is recommended that farmers take proactive steps to mitigate stress by prioritizing quality time with their families, considering the employment of additional labor if feasible, and fostering interactions with fellow farmers, among other strategies.
