Abstract

The present paper examines the vibrations of a rail vehicle system by forming full vehicle model with nineteen-degree-of-freedom (19-DOF). Considering the spring and suspension forces the related mathematical equations are derived while taking irregularities as completely sinusoidal. Translations and rotations of rail vehicle car body, front and rear bogies are showed regarding the critical speeds including damping effects such as undamped, weak damped, normal and strong damped.

Key words: Rail vehicle, bogie, axle, vibration, critical speed, damping.
