Chilli in Bhutan is an indispensable cash crop, commonly consumes as vegetable. However, chilli in commercial scale is the rain-fed farming due to which farmers are not able to produce sufficient amount. Moreover, limited landholding with confine cultivation attributes less yield. Therefore, intensive farming using intercropping of chilli with beans and pruning of chilli in two raised bed techniques were assessed for the growth, yield and soil status under rain-fed farming using Duncan test of General Linear Model. The result showed that there were no effects and no interactions between chilli intercropped with beans and pruning of chilli in raised bed types on all growth and yield parameters. However, there were significant effects of chilli intercropped with beans in modified raised bed on OC%, N%, P, K and pH (except moist%). In contrast, there were no significant effects of pruning chilli in raised bed types on all soil properties. There were also no interactions between chilli intercropped with beans and pruning of chilli in raised bed types on all soil properties. Nevertheless, there were highly significant effects of soil properties in pre-test and post-test soil. OC%, pH, N and P contents were notably higher in pre-test soil whereas Moist% and K were higher in post-test soil. This study concluded higher soil properties under chilli intercropped with beans and pruned chilli in modified raised bed soil. However, higher content of K in post-test soil of chilli production needs to study further to verify the finding.
