Arjo Medium set Pigeon pea Variety with pedigree name ICEAP00979/1 was tested and released by the Bako Agricultural Research Center for Western Ethiopia and similar agro-ecological zones. Arjo was evaluated for seed yield, agronomic characters and disease reaction at Bako, Billo and Gute experimental sites between the years 2020/2021 and 2021/2022. Arjo was released because of their better seed yields as well as biomass yield compared to same maturity group i.e kibret. Arjo was resistant to fusarium wilt and tolerant to Cercospora.and relatively less susceptible to insect mainly pod sucks bags, pod borers (Heliothis amigera and elanagromyzo obtuzo). The result of multi-environment yield trials showed that Uke has outperformed the commercial variety, kibret by 37.5 and 20 % at on station and on-farm in seed yield, respectively. The stability analysis showed that Uke was more ideal and stable in grain yield performance than the check kibret.
