Effects of social capital structure on organizational learning

Abstract

With the approach of knowledge economy times and international management of businesses, businesses have to emphasize the accumulation of social capital structure to cope with the rapidly changed technologies and industrial environments so that more competitive advantages can be brought into organizations. In the period of businesses emphasizing the long-term development and organizational learning, with the constant organizational learning in the business, members in an organization will continuously enhance knowledge and competition that will benefit the development and sustainable management of the organization. So, in order to advance technological innovation standard, enterprise social capital will become more important with better participation in globalization. This study aims to discuss the effects of social capital structure on organizational learning, from the aspect of organizational cultures, as well as the effects of the interactions between social capital structure and organizational cultures on organizational learning. With the owner, supervisors, and operating personnel in Acer Taiwan as the subjects, 500 questionnaires were distributed and 168 effective ones retrieved. The way of SPSS statistical analysis software is used data analysis include factor analysis, relevant analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. The findings show that: (1) social capital structure appears significant positive correlation to organizational learning, (2) organizational cultures present positive correlation to social capital structure, (3) there is positive correlation between organizational cultures and organizational learning, and (4) there is remarkable positive effects on organizational learning after the interactions between social capital structure and organizational cultures. Finally, this study aims to provide some suggestions and references, with the research findings, to for businesses in discussing social capital structure and organizational learning.
