Information Communication Technology has been identified as an important tool in the development of relevant skills in the 21st century. The development of technology along with the internet and the increased access to ICTs have played a major role in influencing how people work, live and engage in leisure as these spheres of human life increasingly become interconnected due to digitization. In this respect, this paper theoretically reviewed the concept of 21st Century skills and the frameworks that have been applied to conceptualize these skills. The paper also reviews how these skills have been implemented through various policies in the global and Kenyan contexts. The paper concludes that 21ST Century skills are closely linked to the capabilities of new interactive media which facilitate the development of motivation to learn new skills by learners
