The objective of this study is to assess the risk of infection related to Salmonella spp. when consuming water cooled with ice blocks produced locally in N'Djamena/Chad. For this purpose, a survey was carried out on a sample of 100 people and a total of 35 samples of water cooled with locally produced ice blocks were collected. The results of the risk assessment showed that 337 out of 1000 people could develop salmonellosis. It is therefore necessary to take urgent and adequate measures in this sector to ensure the good health of the population of N'Djamena (Chad).
