Study on various types of infections related to balanitis in circumcised or uncircumcised male and its causes, symptoms and management

Balanitis generally affects uncircumcised males characterized by the glans and foreskin becoming red and inflamed. In circumcised men, who lack a foreskin, these symptoms only affect the tip of the penis. The condition often occurs due to the fungus Candida albicans, the same organism that causes vaginal yeast infections in women. The objective of the study is to give a study on various types of infections related...

Oral administration of Qing-Shu-Yi-Qi-Tang reduce lung cancer-induced cachexia in mice

This study is to investigate anti-inflammatory and anti-cachectic effect of Qing-Shu-Yi-Qi-Tang (QSYQT) in RAW 264.7 cells and Lewis lung cancer cells bearing mice. We examined the effect of QSYQT on LPS-induced inflammatory activity in a murine macrophage cell line, Raw 264.7. We evaluated cachectic parameters, such as weight loss, food intake and tumor size in tumor-bearing and non-tumor-bearing mice treated with...

Validated high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the determination of sumatriptan in rabbit plasma: Application to pharmacokinetic study

A new, sensitive and specific isocratic reverse phase-high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method with fluorescence detection was developed and validated for the determination of sumatriptan in rabbit plasma using sulpiride as an internal standard (IS). Sumatriptan was extracted from plasma by a liquid-liquid extraction with a mixture of tert-butyl methyl ether, dichloromethane and ethyl acetate (2:2:3,...

Frequency of isolated antibiotic resistant bacterial strains from nursing staff (Azzahra Hospital, Iran)

Nursing staff have important roles to play in nosocomial infections. Antibiotic resistance is the ability of a microorganism to withstand the effects of an antibiotic; it evolves naturally via natural selection through random mutation, but it could also be engineered. The purpose of this study was to survey the relative frequency of antibiotic resistant strains in isolated bacteria...

Role of nano structure of crystalline layer and beta lactamase nano enzyme in antibiotics resistant bacteria

Crystalline layer is the outermost protein in bacteria and archiae, and it inhibits antibiotics introduction due to increase of pathogenicity in bacteria. According to the role of health care workers and hospital surfaces in nosocomial infections, contamination of this source withBacillus cereus strains produce crystalline layer and beta lactamase as a result of the spread of antibiotic resistance of nosocomial...

Cannabinoid receptor 2 gene polymorphism was associated with bone mineral density and t-score in Chinese postmenopausal women

The objective of the study is to investigate the association of rs2229579 polymorphism of cannabinoid receptor 2 gene (CNR2) with bone mineral density (BMD) in Chinese Han postmenopausal women. 490 Chinese Han postmenopausal women were randomly recruited and their BMD were measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) at total body, lumbar spine (L2-L4), femoral neck and trochanter. Genotypes for the CNR2...
