Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a reliable and valid instrument in order to determine the elementary school students' levels about reflective thinking. A total of 320 students of 6th, 7th and 8th grades from 6 different primary schools participated in the study. It was identified that the instrument was composed of totally 17 items with one factor and the whole instrument has a reliability coefficient of Cronbach α=0.86. At the same time, this instrument is also the first original instrument developed for determining the elementary school students’ levels of reflective thinking in Turkey.
